Blackpool Culture Shops

Blackpool Council is supporting a range of professional artists to exhibit their work in empty shops in the town centre of Blackpool. The aim of the programme is to make our town centre more attractive by adding something special and unique to our increasingly vibrant shopping centre after a national period of recession.

This summer we have the first wave of installations by artists and will continue up until the end of March 2011. The programme is supported by the Arts Council through their Art in Empty Spaces initiative with funding from the Arts Lottery.

If you are a professional artist interested in taking part in our programme please contact us on 01253 478170 or e-mail

artsdevelopment@blackpool.gov.uk for a detailed information pack. You can also make comments on the present installations by going to our blog
